The
North Texas Mustang Club, a nonprofit organization with over 250 members, hosts
the 31st Annual Yellow Rose Classic All Ford Nationals. Our goals are to promote the restoration,
preservation, and enjoyment of classic Ford automobiles and to enhance the
community in which we live. The club was formed in 1982 and has steadily grown
to be one of the largest Mustang clubs in North America. The club has members
from all areas of the D/FW area, as well as beyond. We produce numerous car
shows, cruises, road trips, a monthly newsletter, and tech seminars. The club
also participates in parades transporting parade dignitaries and works with
other area car clubs at various events around the D/FW area. We are a member of
the Mustang Club of America.
The Yellow Rose Classic is the North Texas Mustang Club’s answer to the demand
for a quality indoor show-featuring classic, antique, and collectible Ford
automobiles and trucks. This annual event began in 1990 with 50,000 square feet
of display space at the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Exhibit Hall. Demand exceeded space and this show grew to
100,000 square feet of space in 1992. In
2014 the show moved to the Arlington Convention Center which is more central to
the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. Show participants include individuals, Ford
enthusiast car clubs, and both local and nationally known vendors.
Previous milestone shows produced by the club include the 25th Anniversary
Mustang Show at the Arlington Convention Center, 29 Annual Yellow Rose Classics;
the 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, and 50th Anniversary “Mustang” Shows,
the 30th, 40th, and 50th Anniversary “Cougar Celebrations”, and the 100th
Anniversary of the Model T. In 2019 previous winners of peoples, and participants choice. In 2018 we
celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Ford F-Series Truck, the 50th Anniversary
of the Ford Torino, the Cobra Jet, the Shelby GT500KR and the Bullitt Car.
The club works throughout the year with many charity organizations in the D/FW
area. Profits from the Yellow Rose Classic are used to help support these
various charities. Show proceeds will be used to assist needy individuals and
local programs throughout the year. Some of the past charities supported include
the Shelby Children’s Fund, American Cancer Society, and the Helen McGraw
Kidney Foundation. The club also assembles and distributes food baskets at
Thanksgiving and Christmas and adopts a needy family at Christmas. Donations
have also been made to family members of police officers who are in need of
serious medical care, families of police officers killed in the line of duty,
and other individuals in need. These activities are just a part of our total
charitable and community service work.
The past three Yellow Rose Classic shows have focused on the Scottish
Rite Hospital.
